Building History
A Key Part of potsdam's Proud Heritage
Originally built as Potsdam Normal School, The Quarry is a three-story Classical Revival style building on the National Register of Historic Places. The Normal School, also referred to as Snell Hall upon ownership of Clarkson University, is the largest and oldest building on the historic campus of the Potsdam State Normal School. It was built 1917-1919 to serve as the main classroom and administration building. Today it has been converted from classrooms to apartments for individuals, & small families alike.
